Shader Previews

• What are shader previews?

• Shader previews are our attempt at providing a hint of what shaders actually look like in-game beyond the limited colors presented in their API icons.

• Where can I find them?

• When you open any shader's item detail page, a new section will now appear with its Shader Preview, if it is among those we have completed.

  A smaller preview also appears in the hover tooltip when mousing over/tapping shader icons on the site, like this:

• I play a Titan or Warlock. Why are all the previews of a Hunter?

• Statistically, Hunters are the most popular class in the game, so we chose to use a Hunter in basic starting gear as the baseline for the preview.

  Should this feature prove popular, we will look into generating previews for Titans and Warlocks as well.

• Why are there only previews on some shaders?

• These are generated using the in-game collections feature, and some shaders only display there if you have already collected them.

• I have a shader in my collection that doesn't have a preview. How can I contribute?

• You can contribute shaders we're missing by going through these steps (PC Client):

  1. Ensure your game resolution is set to 1920x1080.
  2. Make sure your game is set to either Fullscreen or Windowed Fullscreen.
  3. Log in to a Hunter
  4. Bring up your character select screen (usually by hititng F1)
  5. Equip the full Scavenger Suit armor set. You should be able to print this out from your Collections.
  6. Equip a Khvostov 7G-02. You should be able to print this out from your Collections.
  7. Go to Collections > Flair > Shaders
  8. Right click to the shader you want to screenshot.
  9. Move your cursor out of view.
  10. Hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard
  11. The game will put a banner across the bottom of the screen describing where it has saved the screenshot.
  12. Join our Discord Server.
  13. Paste the screenshot into the #shader-previews channel.
• What do I get for contributing?

• Anyone who contributes 10 screenshots will receive a month of ad-free browsing. No, this does not stack 😉

• How do I know which shaders don't have previews?

• Here's a list of the ones we're missing, if you would like to contribute:
