Knew this day would come, and with it, one last lesson…

There's an end to all things, kid. Good and bad.

Sure, the best times seem small, and the bad tend to linger, but the only permanent is eternity.

I'm off to meet it.

If you're lucky, someday you will too.

For now, though, you've got road yet traveled and lives yet lived.

I know you got hate in you. Most do. Trick is to use it, 'stead of it usin' you.

But you know this—vengeance is a motivator, not the motive.

Meant to—hoped to—say these words to you one last time in person, but writin' 'em down seems the safe bet with the prey we're trackin'.

Worst part about bein' a good guy? As much as you may want it, you can't always win. But that truth don't bother me. We do the right thing, 'cause the right thing needs doin'. So, when another does harm—casts their shadow upon you or your kin—you go 'head and hunt for the justice needed to answer any sins inflicted.

Don't hunt 'em 'cause you been wronged.

Hunt 'em 'cause what they did was wrong.

There's a world of difference there, kid.

One makes you selfish. The other makes you a hero.

And I see a hero in you.

And with this last good lesson, a gift. I know it feels right in your hand—its weight easy, its trigger smooth. Use it as you will—I know you'll use it right.

It's so unfortunate that it got hit that hard with nerfs. Bottom tier in PVE and took a huge hit in PVP. The range is pretty dang short now and you'll often die when closing the distance or you'll die to shotgunners, who previously couldn't even come close to reaching you.

Well got it 2 weeks ago and already have 1k kills with it. its a beast at close to mid range. Its fast reliable and fast!
Its one of those weapons you cant do crucible without!

Pretty fun in pve but pvp is where this gun really shines. Hip fire grip was recently buffed so inadvertently this gun was buffed as well. The target acquisition is now insane and i actually have the confidence i had in d1 to 3v1 again. This gun was good before but now its cracked.

It just feels fantastic, and the TTK in crucible is insane. Just do yourself a favour and get it ASAP.

I wanted to like this weapon but once I got it is found it underwhelming. I'm sure other people can make it work and it is a fun weapon to mess around with and it looks awesome with laconic ornament. I can go positive with a hc like old fashioned, dire promise and spare rations but I can't get this to work for me in PvP. Peer to peer connection REALLY doesn't help too. Maybe I need to practice more.

There are better options for PvE if your wanting to use it.

Fun gun in pve. In console pvp this thing is a MONSTER, more if u have a good sniper at ur side, fusions and shotguns are not that good with it

Used to be great, but with the nerfs this gun has fallen. On PC, this gun is barely even viable, much less consistent. R.I.P the coolest gun destiny had ever seen. :(

An absolute demon in PVP, but i'm sure you know that already. I just wish it was more PVE-viable; it's easily the most fun hand cannon to use. If the catalyst added Rampage and nothing else I'd be happy...

Not gonna lie, of all the other hand cannons out there right now, I'm actually the most competent with this one. Ace of Spades has got nothing on this one, except when fighting beyond close range where The Last Word is the most effective at.

I highly recommend pairing this with a long range weapon like a bow or sniper to cover its weaknesses, or commit to close range with a shotgun.

PvE: Good at clearing out ads in a timely fashion if you can aim, not the best against beefier enemies.
PvP: Absolutely great. Extremely fast ttk if you can land your shots, also great for clean up after hitting a sniper body shot.

The gun is insane. Before it dropped, I had done some math based on the data mines and had concluded it's optimal TTK was 0.63. I was off. It was actually 0.53. When I got my hunter got its hands on this, it felt right at home. The Last Word, too. Great for use with a High-Impact scout rifle (which got a buff the week this quest dropped.) I use a Braytech RWP II as my secondary, but this? The Last Word? It's only coming out of my Kinetic slot when I absolutely need it to.
