The epitaph is barely readable, appearing to have been scraped almost clean from the frame. Below the stricken words, five hash-marks are engraved into the weapon. A small etching in Eliksni reads:

It kills at 18m, and its a cracked anti shotgun killer. Ive been pairing it with Luna's as an energy but will keep trying other energies. It shoots 3 times. Imagine like Cerberus but with a charge time.

PvE: Bypassing elemental shields is good for match game, as it means you don't have to worry much about actually "matching" the shields. Did that enemy with a sliver of health regen their shield? Bastion don't care. They're going down.

PvP: One of the three bursts can effectively down a full-health guardian This is genuinely a good and fun option and I've wanted a kinetic option for a proper fusion since Forsaken launched. This is going to live in my Crucible loadout.

Pretty meh in PVE, very fun in PvP; in PvP it has the potential to kill supers with one burst (I took out Sentinels, Arc Striders and Nova Warps with it), destroy Titan shields and Well swords in one burst, as well. Do not think of this weapon as a fusion, it's more like a Shotgun with a charge time, like an AA-12 with a drum mag.

The Gun is obviously pretty unique in the sense that it is a kinetik Fusion Rifle with a fixed spread. For PVE the gun partially damages enemies through shields which is a big deal for matchgame since you can ignore them overall it is decent in PVE but nothing ground breaking therefore the 3 Stars. For PVP though it can do a couple of very interesting things: one burst any super up to around 15 meters, one bursts titan shields, overpenetrates enemies.

Pvp is a whole other dimension! This thing wrecks! Anyone who is saying it’s trash, doesn’t know how to play with it and thinks it’s a regular fusion... it has the range of about chaperone with roadborn active, can kill supers in one shot and can kill multiple guardians in one charge. Play as if you were using a shotgun with a charge time and it’s amazing.

For PvP, I really enjoy having a Lord of Wolves equivalent in the Kinteic Slot lmao.

For PvE, this thing can destroy a blight in a single burst but thats about it honestly
It melts majors with Ease but so do shotguns. I never find myself using Fusions in PvE anyway, so nice to have SOMETHING Viable.

First positive - it looks great. Second positive - it's pretty good in PvP. It'll one burst supers at close range, it's essentially a really powerful shotgun with a charge time. Its damage drop-off is super steep, so if you're outside effective range you're basically tickling someone. Big negative - it's entirely meh in PvE.

Really good in PvE and PvP, in PvE it hits like a heavy with only 1 mag and in PvP it kills with only 1 slug of the 3, it even kills super at mid-close range, this weapon can be a "bad reward" but that doesn't mean it is bad as a gun, actually, it's great.

Long story short as i can't put my full thoughts here. It's very niche in PvE but even in those situations there's better options. In PvP it's good but lacks the range that legendary fusions have. It also takes your exotic slot which is almost always filled by Izanagi's Burden in PvE, and the obvious choices for PvP.

Love this weapon, I am a lover of slug shotguns and this hits just the right spot in PvP. A nice option in PvE to switch up your loadout, solid but not mindblowing

underated in PvE and overated In PvP
- PvE: high damage for low ammo cost while doing full damage without getting stomped or worrying about missing crit spot with sniper
- PvP: at max range for 1 shot kill (3 volley), you need to hit roughly 75% of the slugs on guardian instead of 50% (when it first released). Having to charge, predict opponent and keep yourself at the correct distance to not get aped while doing full damage
bastion is not as OP, it just deadly on the right hand.

Limited usefulness in PVE, but still pretty fun as something that's off-meta. In PVP, this feels like the ultimate counter to shotgun rushers - just charge it up when you see someone starting to come at you, and they'll regret it immediately. All it takes is a little practice to understand its range.

Pretty much a close ranged Arbalest not worth an exotic slot for any PvE situation. Hugely underrated in PvP and Trials with great range and damage once you handle its recoil

Inside of PVE content it bypasses shields and hits enemies health bar directly. I recommend using mostly for casual play, non-boss raid encounters, and possibly as a last ditch option for match game content.

Inside of PVP this weapon functions similar to a long range shotgun. It has about a 5 bolt spread, and three volleys. One full volley can down a full health Guardian inside of close to mid-range. Long ranges are generally pointless with this weapon.

Its ok in pve with the shield penetrating feature, but it really isn't the best choice. Pvp is a different story, being able to melt through supers in one burst is very satisfying. Its essentially a burst fire shotgun

In PvE on shielded targets, it works far better than I first thought it would. On unshielded targets it hits hard if you control the kick.
For PvP I quite like the range and power of each burst. I'm going to keep it in my load out as a fun anti-shotgun weapon.

When I tried this out in Crucible, I was amazed. The Bastion is OP at close to medium range, destroying everyone who is trying to gun you down or rushing you with shotguns. I recommend pairing with a bow. One-shots Supers alike. This thing is a boss at PvP. For PvE, it's just a solid fusion rifle. I just think that other weapons are better for PvE. Anyone who says this gun is terrible obviously can't aim the gun.
